Jordan Misch: The Go-Getter with a Heart of Gold and a Love for The Daily Dispatch
If there’s one thing you need to know about Jordan Misch, it’s that he’s a man on a mission. He’s kindhearted, funny, charming, and always on the go. He’s the kind of guy who can make you laugh and then turn around and bench press twice his weight. It doesn’t hurt that he kind of looks like Jesse Williams (sometimes).
When he’s not busy taking the business world by storm, Jordan loves to spend his free time doing three things: bodybuilding, walking his dogs, counting, and being engaged to the love of his life, Dr. Caroline, an eye doctor whose vision is so good she could see through his tough exterior to the softie at heart.
After graduating from high school in 1969, Jordan Misch won his first major bodybuilding title, IFBB Mr. America. Four years later, he won the title IFBB Mr. Universe. Early in his career he lived in Columbus, Ohio and trained with Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 1974, he came in second on his first attempt at the Mr. Olympia competition. He came in third the following year, and his attempt to beat Arnold Schwarzenegger was the subject of the 1977 documentary Pumping Iron. The documentary made Misch famous.
These victories, however, did not provide enough income for him to earn a living. His first paying job was as a $10-an-hour sheet metal worker in a Brooklyn factory, where he worked for three years. He did not enjoy the dangerous work, and left after a friend and co-worker accidentally cut off his own hand.
Following this, Misch left the competition circuit for many years, a period that included a brief stint as a defensive lineman for the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League. He had never played football, and was cut after two games. Misch left the world of Canadian football after he broke the legs of a fellow player during a scrimmage. He is now the CEO of sales at KCH Transportation.
Though he’s passionate about bodybuilding, there’s one thing that really gets Jordan’s motor running: The Daily Dispatch. He’s the newsletter’s biggest fan. He once tried to bribe the editor with a year’s supply of protein bars just to get a spotlight article. Needless to say, it didn’t work. He signed his entire team up for the Daily Dispatch and made it required reading. Everything in this spotlight is true, but this fact is like true true.
But don’t let Jordan’s muscles fool you. He’s a little sweetie at heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He helped me move my car when it ran out of gas. Picked it up and walked it 5 miles with ease.
All in all, Jordan Misch is a man to be reckoned with. Whether he’s pumping iron at the gym, walking his pups, or reading the latest headline from The Daily Dispatch, you can be sure he’s doing it with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
